My last ceramic class has been the best. I believe this semester's projects were my best yet. I'm incredibly happy for being able to take three years of ceramics and approve along the way. This semester I knew would be challenging because these projects were tedious, but I surprised my ability. I'm grateful to Mrs. Baroudi for encouraging me to try my best. Also shoutout to Lexi because she's also been with me for all three years and we've struggled and succeeded together.

Hand Built #2
This is my other hand built project. At first, this piece was really hard to make because I used bad, old clay that would not wedge. Starting off with new clay, it made this piece a whole lot easier to built. I wand to built something a little bigger because my other hand built was small. I didn't know what I was making but I still liked it. Unfortunately, this piece broke in the kiln. I glued it back together and although it's not perfect, it's no big deal. I decided to use this paint because it was something that I had never used before so I decided to try it out. Although it wasn't exactly what I wish it was, I still like the piece. I can use it as an iPad holder!
Hand Built #1
This is the first project I did of the whole semester. Although it is on the smaller side, I do enjoy the detail I put into this box. I do feel that I spent too much time on my box but the end result was really nice. I like using the sandstone clay to build projects because it feels like you can create anything your heart desires. This is one of my favorite pieces!

2 Clay Pieces Wedged Together #3
This was the most difficult pieces to make out of the three peices that were wedged together. I intended on making a big plate but it turned out to be very difficult. I learned a new technique to create plates on this wheel. To start, my clay was very dry so the pieces wouldn't wedge together. Then, I made a big plate, but the middle was too thin and couldn't support the outside of the plate. Therefore, I had to cut the plate to be smaller, but I'm still happy with how it turned out. This is also the piece where you can really see the dark cassius clay.
2 Clay Pieces Wedged Together #2
This is my second piece using porecelin and cassius. This is my favorite piece out of everything I made because it was scratched nicely and looks very good because everything is even. This piece waaas really fun to make because the clay felt buttery. I overall think I did really well on this piece, and I'm proud of it.
13 Tiles
These are my 13 tiles. The point of this project was to see how different colors combine to create other colors. This project was super helpful because if there is not a color that you like, you combine shades to create the shade that you would like. I really think this was a good and cool project to make.
2 Clay Pieces Wedged Together #1
This is my first piece of the two pieces of clay wedged together. I think the porcelain and cassius mke a really cool and unique design. My first piece is a small plate. I had also made a bowl and together, this plate and bowl make the perfect combination. Because these two pieces were wedged together, the combination of the two colors always look different, and it was fun to scrape off the brown clay and reveal the swirl.

Sgraffito #1
This is my first sgraffito piece. I really enjoy sgraffito because it can make a piece that is so simple, become something unique and intricate. This piece is a 20 sided candy container made from porcelain. I got inspiration from a random google image and decided to make it because it looked cool and unique.

Planter
I like the planter because of the colors. They are bold and perfect for plants and Spring. My planter is on the small side but I think it would be perfect for a small, delicate flower. We made it on the wheel and I thought the technique was really interesting with how we use our fingers. I really like mine!
Weave Basket
This isn't my weave basket that I personally made but who ever made it should be proud. Someone took mine on accident so I painted this one. I wanted to paint it a matte purple color but I picked the wrong color. That's okay. It's a matte color which I think makes it unique. I thought the technique for the weave basket was cool.

Three Pinch Pots
For this project, we made three pinch pots. You would think it is easy but it was actually difficult to make the pinch pots all look and be the same size. It was also hard to bond them together. However, I really like how my turned out. A pattern through my projects are hearts so I added a heart in each pot.
Chalice
I thought the chalice was a really cool because it was actually made on the wheel in 2 parts. The first was like a pinch pot, and the second was a base. The base was really cool because you started it like a normal project and then divided it and pull the upper part up to created the base. I thought the project was really fun.
Birdhouse
For my birdhouse, I was researching many different ways to make them and I came across a birdhouse that was in the shape of a log. I thought it was so cool and I used it as my inspiration. I tried to make mine look like a log but it didn't work out so instead, I added a quote on the back. Since the quote had to do with sparkles, I decided to paint my project black, and added sparkles to make it pop. I also added a heart opening for a cute touch!
Teapot
For my teapot, I did a elephant. I was researching different and unique teapots and I came cross an elephant teapot. After doing more searching, I really wanted to make an elephant. It wasn't easy because of the spout but after much time, I finally made my teapot. For the pot itself, I started with a pinch pot. I think added the handle and lid. It took me almost 2 weeks to make the spout since I wanted it curved but I'm super happy about how it turned out!
Chip n' Dip
We use the wheel to make a chip n' dip. I thought it was really cool how we started out with a normal project, and then transformed it by using our finger to divide the chip and dip part.

The Ugly Box
This is my box that I made by rolling slabs. I did the same technique as my Halloween Box, but I put a top on it and carved it out to make a lid. I used a crystalite that had bits of red in it, so I decided to use that color as the lid. In the inside, I used an element glaze to achieve this look. It is really different in color and texture but that's why I like it. I called it The Ugly Box because at first I didn't like it, but I think it adds a really cool vibe to it and now I like my box! (:
Bowl on the Wheel
This is the bowl I made on the wheel. It took a lot of practice but I finally came out with this. It's kind of a flat bowl but I like how it turned out! (:
Fruit
This is my fruit project. I went for a half of a lemon with a bunch of fun colors. I used the pinch pot method and carved the slices of a lemon into the clay. I really like how it turned out! (:
Shoe
This is the shoe that I made using the techniques shown before. I also use different paints to achieve this look. I used crystalites, regular paint, as well as speckled paint. I went for a ballet type of shoe! (:
