My last ceramic class has been the best. I believe this semester's projects were my best yet. I'm incredibly happy for being able to take three years of ceramics and approve along the way. This semester I knew would be challenging because these projects were tedious, but I surprised my ability. I'm grateful to Mrs. Baroudi for encouraging me to try my best. Also shoutout to Lexi because she's also been with me for all three years and we've struggled and succeeded together.

Abstract Piece
When deciding what to do for abstract, I was struck. Many of my projects that I've try to do abstract, broke and this was no different. I decided to take a trip down memory lane and use some of my old pieces to create abstract art. I put my chip and dip together as well as my three pinch pots to create an organizer. Unfortunately, it got struck with a metal pole and broke. Still, I enjoy this peice despite its appearance because it is super useful. I use it to store office supplies.

Five Piece Dinner Set
The five piece dinner set included a mug, salad plate, dinner plate, soup bowl, and espresso cup with saucer. These pieces are in relation to my teapot with the matte black exterior and real with cyrstal insides. The espresso cup, mug, and teapot all have the butterfly style. I enjoy my dinner set because I like the size. I think they are good portion for meals and surprisingly, they were easy to accomplish on the wheel.
3D Paper Project
Along with my teapot, this was my other favorite project. I saw this inspiration to make a rib cage from tumblr and decided to persue to make it. I got the book from a used book stored and the title was, All Too Human, which I thought was so coincidental. This whole project took forever to make, like six or so hours, but it was totally worth it. First i hollowed out most of the pages in the book and used the pages to create paper beads. When it came time to make the ribs, the beads were fed through a wire and were displayed gradually getting bigger. The spine was made from cardboard and the color was from tea ink that gave it a more old and authentic look. I'm very proud of this piece because of how dedicated I was to it and how it turned out.

Musical Instrument
When deciding what to make for a musical instrument, I thought about a shaker with bells. My ceramics teacher, Mrs. Baroudi, delivered me about half a dozen paper towel rolls to use. I tried different colors and techniques of the shakers, but I finally had an idea to have a Christmas theme. As random as it is, the bells reminded me of reindeers and sleds. I painted the tube red and sponged white acyrlic paint. I used a black piece of ribbon and glued on the bells. I kind of considered this like a reindeer caller. I actually really like this, and I think it's different than a typical diy musical instrument.
Balsa Wood Scultpure
For my balsa wood scultpure, I wanted to do a mobile that was geometric. This was tricky to get all of the triangles to bond together, but I enjoy the different shapes that were created. The wood was two different sizes and decorated with gunmetal wire and hot pink paint. For it to hang, I used fish wire.i enjoy my bales wood project because it is not a standard mobile nor shape.
Wheel Thrown Teapot
I think this is my favorite piece I've ever made in ceramics; I'm pretty proud. Everything except the handle of my teapot was on the wheel. I really enjoy the shape of the tea
Or because I think it is a classic shape and size. The lid is not a complete match to the pot, but I think it has a suitable appearance. This matches my dinner set as well which I think is convenient if I ever choose to use it. As with my dinner set, the teapot is painted with a surplus of matte black matte on the outside and the inside explodes with teal crystals. I gave this to my mom for a Mother's Day, and she was pleasantly surprised and now keeps it in our kitchen!
